Jai is a film on the Mumbai municipal corporation's actions against slum-dwellers, with an ending that left viewers outraged. The illegal huts are all set to be demolished by MMC. The huts are not only made of mud, but also of wood. But they are too poor to afford expensive cement which is likely to be used for building these huts. The MMC gives them a couple of days to find an alternative site, or else demolish them with their own hammers. Once everyone has gone, the demolition begins.
